Beyond Lines of Code: The Ethics, Policy, and Inequities of Technology
Los Angeles, CA
What are the implications of technological innovation in our daily lives? How can we shape the technological future we want? Through this trip, we will explore the perspectives of different stakeholders in tech, from big corporations to policymakers to accountability advocates. We'll dive into the ethical issues surrounding artificial intelligence, surveillance, social media, and more. Understanding the implications of our high-tech reality also means we will explore the potential benefits and cons of the rapidly evolving technological landscape in LA's leading sectors such as entertainment, healthcare, and education. By learning from those at the forefront of tech ethics and examining our own relationships to tech, we hope for participants to become empowered in their ability to build responsible tech for all.

Hi! I'm Amber and I'm a sophomore from Vancouver, Canada. I'll be majoring in either Mechanical Engineering or Design, and I'm really interested in sustainability and responsible tech. Through ASB, I'm excited to explore the intersections of technology and policy, as well as the environmental and social impacts of AI. In my free time, I enjoy going to concerts, thrifting, and crocheting.
